Faribault: primary editorial focus
Faribault, in Rice County, is the primary community this site is written for. Southern Minnesota winters put the ground through repeated freeze–thaw cycles, so drainage and base preparation deserve careful questions; see why base depth varies. No Faribault-specific price survey, soil survey or patio permit rule was found in our research, so check permit questions with the city before work begins.
Nearby towns
Northfield and Owatonna
Northfield, which lies partly in Rice County, and Owatonna were researched as separate audience markets. Search results there showed a range of independent landscaping and hardscape businesses; appearing in search results says nothing about a business's quality, and those businesses have no arrangement with Concrete Pavers Guide.
Dundas, Kenyon, Medford and Waseca
These towns are part of the area this site covers. There are no separate town pages; project calls are taken here too. The preparation is the same everywhere: choose a paving system, define the scope and compare written proposals using the quote inclusions table.
Before contacting any installer
The full vetting checklist is in how to choose a paver contractor.
- Does the contractor serve your address, and is there a travel or minimum charge?
- Which work do they do in-house, and is anything subcontracted?
- How do estimates work: is there a site visit, and is the proposal itemized?
- Can any required registrations or insurance be checked independently?
- What does the written contract include for scope, schedule, cleanup and follow-up?
Questions about communities
What should I mention when I call?
Your town or address, the kind of project (patio, walkway, driveway or repair), the rough size and any timing you have in mind. The site visit and estimate come next.
Will there be pages for each town?
Only if there is genuinely useful town-specific information to publish. A page that swaps one town name for another would not help anyone.
Sources and limitations
- Rice County, Minnesota: places and populations (opens in a new tab) — citypopulation.de (U.S. Census Bureau estimates). Checked October 25, 2026; lists Faribault and Dundas in Rice County and lists Northfield as "(part)", meaning only part of the city lies in Rice County. Limitation: County details for Owatonna, Kenyon, Medford and Waseca were not part of the research reviewed, so they are not stated here.
